Why is Dust migrating to a new version?

Technology changes rapidly, especially related to data security. We have rebuilt Dust from the ground up to be more secure, more user-friendly, and more focused on the core messaging functionality. We are really excited for the new version launching in January, 2019.

What does migration mean?

We are moving your account details to the new version of the app so when you update Dust to the latest version and sign in, all of your account details (i.e. friends, profile photo, bio) will be preloaded into the new Dust app.

Why do you need my phone number?

Dust uses your phone number as a secure way to login. Your number is never shared with other users.

What info is migrating?

  • Username
  • Profile photo
  • Dust Friends (People you have added to your Dust Contacts)
  • OPTIONAL: GMT balance (to Perxy.com, see below)

What about my GMT rewards?

If you setup a Dust-GMT wallet, your GMT rewards will be moved to a new secure account in our redemption portal, Perxy, located at www.perxy.com. The first step to preserve your rewards is to complete the migration process in Dust. Next, browse to www.perxy.com and create a new account. Finally, link your Dust app to see your balance.   • Click the blue banner in Dust to initiate account migration
  • Enter your phone number
  • Verify your phone number
  • Sit back, relax, and wait for the next app update (coming in Jan ‘19)
